Dental Hygienist
Job Summary: The successful candidate is responsible for completing dental prophylaxis by clearing deposits and stains from the teeth and beneath gum margins. Educates patients by giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructions and postoperative instructions, providing reminders of time to next dental hygiene visit. The candidate detects disease by completing oral cancer screening, feeling and visually examining gums; using probes to locate periodontal disease and assess levels of recession, exposing and developing radiographic studies. Documents dental hygiene services by recording vital signs, medical & dental histories, and charting in patient records. The candidate promotes dental health by completing dental prophylaxis; providing oral cancer screening and radiographic studies; charting conditions of decay and disease; performing procedures under supervision and direction from a Dental Officer. Also maintains dental supplies inventory and ensures operation of dental equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements.
Qualification & Experience: The successful candidate must possess a diploma/degree in Dental Hygiene with three (3) years’ experience as a Dental Hygienist. The successful candidate must be currently registered as a Dental Hygienist within one of the following seven jurisdictions, the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Jamaica, Australia, New Zealand, our South Africa, to be license eligible to work in the Cayman Islands.
