Dr. Lamsee-Ebanks, Director of Clinical Support Services
Dr. Lamsee-Ebanks brings over 20 years of clinical experience, having previously served two terms as Consultant Paediatrician and Clinical Head of the HSA’s Paediatric Unit. In this role, she provided care for patients with acute and chronic illnesses and managed all stages of the paediatric continuum from pre-term infants to mid-adolescence.

Dr. Chela Lamsee-Ebanks, Director of Clinical Support Services
Her career began at the Paediatric Department of the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Trinidad, where she progressed from House Officer to Registrar, and later served as a Consultant in the Paediatric Accident and Emergency Unit.
In her new role as Director of Clinical Support Services, Dr. Lamsee-Ebanks will oversee a broad portfolio of departments, including Radiology, Laboratory, Pharmacy, Therapy Services, Pharmacy Stores, the Cayman Islands Molecular Biology Laboratory, Forensics, and Chiropractic. She will lead these services with a focus on innovative service delivery, evidence-based practice, and a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
As the HSA’s Designated Safeguarding Lead, Dr. Lamsee-Ebanks will continue to represent the organisation on national safeguarding boards, ensuring that child protection policies, training, and practices remain a top priority.
She holds a Doctorate in Medicine in Paediatrics and a Master of Health Administration from Penn State University.
Dr. Karen Stewart, Director of Nursing
Dr. Karen Stewart, an experienced nursing professional with over 30 years of service spanning Critical Care Nursing, Cardiothoracic Nursing, Post Anaesthesia Care and Nursing Leadership, previously served as Senior Nursing Officer (Inpatient), and Nurse Manager for the Critical Care and Chemotherapy units at the HSA.

Dr. Karen Stewart, Director of Nursing
In her new leadership role, Dr. Stewart will be responsible for providing strategic, clinical, and professional leadership for all nurses, midwives and nursing support associates, dietary, respiratory therapy and portering services, as well as nutritionists/dietitians.
Dr. Stewart holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Professional Leadership from the American Sentinel College of Nursing & Health Sciences at Post University, Connecticut, USA; a Master's of Science in Nursing from Sheffield Hallam University, United Kingdom (UK); a Master’s in Public Administration and Development from the University of Birmingham, UK; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Derby (UK), and a Bachelor of Arts in Healthcare Management from the University of Westminster, London, UK. She also holds certifications in critical care nursing and cardiorespiratory nursing.
