The annual Women’s Health Conference held Friday, 10 March 2023, at the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort saw a record 300+ attendees.

Obstetrics is that branch of medicine and surgery involving childbirth, and the care of women during pregnancy. At the HSA we offer a comprehensive Obstetrics programme, which involves patient management from conception to childbirth. With our Maternal-fetal medicine specialist physician, we are professionally equipped to care for, and appropriately manage pregnancies of a substantial risk.

Family Planning is the practice of controlling the number of children in a family, as well as the intervals between their births, by the use of contraception (birth control).
The goal of the HSA is to ensure that women are protected and empowered through careful family planning, ensuring the decline of sexually transmitted diseases and the reduction of pregnancy complications.
The Women’s Health team at the HSA provides educational advice on the various contraceptive methods available, assists with selecting, as well as provides the most suitable and effective method for each patient, with a view to ensuring healthy outcomes, and reducing risks that may occur before, during or after childbirth.

Depending on the needs of the patient, once a consultation has taken place, a referral can be made for extended care such as postnatal home visits, social services for the vulnerable, counselling, physiotherapy and much more.
