Physiotherapist (Paediatrics)

The Pediatric Physiotherapist provides the assessment and management of children with complex needs and motor impairment across the inpatient and outpatient settings and within the community.

Primary Responsibilities: The successful candidate will work with children from birth through 17 years of age whose diagnoses may include a wide range of neurological and developmental conditions including, but not limited to prematurity, gross motor delay, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Spina Bifida, Acquired Brain Injury, Hypotonia, Muscular Dystrophy, Torticollis/Plagiocephaly, and other genetic disorders. In addition, he/she will provide specialist evaluation, advice and training of patients, families, and other professional staff on the management of children across musculoskeletal, cardiorespiratory and neurology to maximize function & participation and minimize the impact of disability on wellbeing and ability to participate in daily life.

Qualifications and Experience: The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy or an equivalent qualification, along with a minimum of three (3) years of postgraduate experience. He or she must be eligible for registration to practice in the Cayman Islands and possess a valid license to practice in one of the following jurisdictions: Canada, South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States, Jamaica, South Africa or New Zealand. The candidate should have completed certificate and/or training courses in the management of patients with spasticity, neurorehabilitation, and neonatal care. A valid driver’s license is desirable. The position requires the ability to interact effectively with a diverse population, strong time-management skills, a proactive approach to patient care, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
