What you need to know
Electrical Appliances
For electrical safety reasons, personal appliances are NOT to be used in the Hospital. Privately owned television sets are NOT allowed because of the strict electrical safety requirements which are necessary in the Hospital to avoid interference with delicate medical equipment. We ask that you respect the time with your physicians by turning off your phone during your visit.
Electrical appliances, such as those used for personal grooming, may be used in your room provided they are 110 volt, in good operating condition. Such appliances are not permitted in the Critical Care Unit or when oxygen is in use in the room. We have an excellent fire protection system throughout the hospital. During your stay, the staff may have a practice fire or disaster drill in order to be well prepared should a real situation arise. Do not be alarmed when these drills are in progress. In the event of an actual fire or emergency situation, you will immediately be informed and protected. Your safety is one of our main concerns.
Meals
On the day you are admitted, you may receive a pre-selected meal or two because you have not yet ordered from the menu. When you do select your order for the next day, be sure to mark everything you want, including condiments, and be certain to note the number of each item you desire. Please remember that we must comply with any special diet as ordered by your physician.
If you have any questions regarding your meals or menu selections please ask the nurse to contact the diet office and a representative will be happy to assist you.
Three full meals are served to in-patients daily by our Dietary Service. Hot or cold beverages are also available at bedtime upon request. Meal times are as follows: Breakfast at 8:00 a.m., Lunch at 12:00 noon, Dinner at 5:00 p.m. and Beverages at 8:00 p.m.
