Dr Karen Galloway-Blake

About Me

Dr. Galloway-Blake is a Consultant Internal Medicine Physician in the Cayman Islands Health Services Authority (CIHSA) and is one of the specialist physicians.

She earned her various degrees at the University of The West Indies, Mona, where she first pursued a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Mathematics and then went on to begin her career in medicine and completed her medical degree, earning an MBBS at the UWI, Mona Campus. Dr. Galloway-Blake then pursued specialty training in Internal Medicine and completed her specialty training at the University of the West Indies, Mona, where she earned her Doctor of Medicine (DM) degree in Internal Medicine. She has since worked in various areas of Internal Medicine, initially in Jamaica and now in the Cayman Islands. Dr. Galloway-Blake has also subsequently completed a postgraduate diploma in Respiratory Medicine and a postgraduate certificate in Healthcare Administration.

Dr. Galloway-Blake remains keen to reduce the burden of chronic diseases overall in healthcare and uses her role at the CIHSA to empower and encourage her patients to improve their overall health and learn more about their diseases. Dr. Galloway-Blake aims to improve patients’ outcomes one person at a time by getting each person to meet their health targets and describes the perks of her job as seeing her patients young and old, recover, feel better, and continue their lives with quality.

Dr. Galloway-Blake balances her clinical responsibility as a physician with her professional responsibilities as an active member of various professional associations within the Caribbean and Internationally and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP). Dr. Galloway-Blake enjoys doing educational talks in the community to inform the public about Internal Medicine and improve health-seeking behavior overall.

Dr. Galloway-Blake relishes downtime with her family and relaxes enjoying the outdoors.
