Dr. Courtney Cummings is a Consultant Physician and Internist who holds a doctorate in Internal Medicine. He is currently the Deputy Medical Director at the Cayman Islands Health Services Authority (HSA) and former Acting Medical Director of the HSA from 2004 to 2005. At the HSA he is the Chairperson of the Stroke Protocol Committee, the CME coordinator, member of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee and Clinical Practice Review Committee. He is also a member of both the National and HSA COVID Task Force.
Dr Cummings sat on the Technical Advisory Committee and co- authored the 4th Regional Formulary & Therapeutic Manual of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States in St Lucia in 1994.
During 1994 and 1995 he was an Associate Lecturer in Medicine at the American University of the Caribbean, Montserrat, British West Indies.
In March 1995 he received a Certificate of appreciation for Dedicated Services in the field of Health from the Government & People of Montserrat and in 2015, he was recognized by the Government of the Cayman Islands for contribution in health and the local community
Along with private and public sector colleagues, he has co-authored journal publications on rheumatology and HIV patients in Cayman Islands.
Dr Cummings is a Fellow of the American College of physician and a Sub-committee member of the Caribbean Chapter of the American College of Physician.
