Anaesthetic Technician

Job Summary: The successful candidate assists with induction, maintenance, and emergence of anaesthesia inclusive of perioperative emergencies, peri arrest, cardiorespiratory arrest situations requiring Basic Life Support (BLS) skills, mental and physical support for the patient including positioning and transfer. The candidate checks and conducts routine maintenance on anaesthetic machines, anaesthetic gas delivery, ventilators, monitors humidifiers resuscitation equipment. He/she cleans and ensures decontamination and sterilization processes of all anesthetic and ancillary equipment are maintained. The candidate also accurately records routine equipment inspections including stocking and preparation of anaesthetic equipment rooms and procedural lockers.

Qualification & Experience: The successful candidate must possess a Diploma or Certificate in Anaesthetic Technology from an approved institution (American Society of Anaesthesia Technologists and Technicians certifications or equivalent). Must have at least two (2) years post qualification relevant and specialized anaesthetist technology experience. The candidate must also possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Must have excellent communications skills and the ability to work without close supervision.
