Registered Nurses (School Health)

Job Summary : The Registered Nurse – School Nurse promotes and supports the health and wellbeing of students within the school environment. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive nursing care through health assessments, health promotion, disease prevention, care planning, emergency response, and chronic disease management. This role requires close collaboration with students, families, school personnel, healthcare providers, and community partners to ensure a safe and healthy learning environment while supporting the physical, emotional, and developmental needs of students. The candidate also participates in health education initiatives, infection prevention activities, quality improvement programmes, and multidisciplinary care coordination.

Qualifications & Experience: The successful candidate must hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and three (3) years’ working experience in the related field. Must have a thorough knowledge of the principles of school health and be BLS certified. The successful candidate must be registered in either of the following jurisdictions to be eligible to practice in the Cayman Islands; Jamaica, USA, UK, Canada, South Africa, New Zealand and/or Australia. The candidate should have demonstrated experience in health assessment, care planning, chronic disease management, medication administration, wound care, health education, and emergency response. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with students, families, educators, and community agencies. IV Certification and specialty nursing certification would be considered an asset.
