General Surgeon (Faith Hospital)

Job Summary: The successful candidate provides comprehensive elective and emergency general surgical services at Faith Hospital, Cayman Brac, serving as the primary surgical consultant for the Sister Islands. The role encompasses inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and on-call surgical care, including endoscopic procedures, management of critically ill surgical patients, and support for accident and emergency services. The candidate works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, participate in clinical leadership, quality improvement, staff education, and supports JCI standards, while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred surgical care to the communities of Cayman Brac and Little Cayman.

Qualifications and Experience: The successful candidate must possess a primary medical qualification registered in Canada, the USA, the United Kingdom, or Jamaica, together with a minimum of four (4) years of training in General Surgery and a recognized postgraduate qualification such as FRCS, MD, Board Certification, or equivalent. Applicants must have at least seven (7) years of postgraduate experience in the relevant surgical specialty and demonstrate strong clinical, leadership, communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills. Experience in endoscopic procedures is essential.
