Pharmacy Technician
Job Summary: The successful candidate will perform aseptic dispensing duties, including the preparation of TPN and other sterile products, while maintaining required aseptic standards, environmental controls, and clean-room procedures. The role also includes dispensing and compounding medications, screening prescriptions for potential issues, resolving discrepancies in consultation with a pharmacist, issuing medications with appropriate counselling, and manufacturing non-sterile compounds in accordance with best practice and evidence-based pharmacy standards.
Qualifications and Experience: The successful candidate must be a certified Pharmacy Technician in one of the recognized jurisdictions as required to practice in the Cayman Islands. All candidates must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Pharmacy Technician. Persons who have completed an accredited online Pharmacy Technician course are required to obtain at least one (1) year of practical training, followed by state board certification in any US state of choice. Must have good communication skills and be computer proficient with pharmacy computer operations, aseptic and nonsterile compounding. Must be eligible or have a valid license to practice in the Cayman Islands in accordance with the Cayman Islands Pharmacy Council.
