Business Analyst - Financial
The Business Analyst must analyze, define, design, test, deliver, modify, maintain and support the development and implementation of HSA applications this is to include but not limited to the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Application. This should meet the identified simple and complex business needs of the Health Services Authority (HSA), utilizing the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales and quality.
Primary Responsibilities: The successful candidate provides comprehensive support for the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and related business applications, ensuring efficient day-to-day operation. Key responsibilities include delivering helpdesk support, troubleshooting system issues, assisting with configurations and new functionality, logging and resolving service requests, and providing user training as required. The role also involves liaising with software vendors, coordinating system updates and patches, and ensuring appropriate testing prior to deployment. The candidate also supports system implementations and upgrades, analyzing workflows to recommend improvements, communicate updates and procedural changes to users, and deliver end-user training in various formats. Additional duties include monitoring system performance, conducting audits and troubleshooting activities, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of system enhancements and industry best practices.
Qualifications and Experience: The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business, medical, or computer-related field, along with a minimum of three years’ post-graduate experience; alternatively, mature applicants with at least eight years of relevant professional experience and demonstrated analytical ability will also be considered. Candidates must have experience supporting, configuring, or implementing a hospital Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, with exposure to financial or administrative healthcare applications such as Registration, Scheduling, Charge Services, Master Patient Index, Patient Accounting, or Medical Records. The role requires strong planning, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines. Candidates must demonstrate a keen aptitude for computer technology, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, the ability to collaborate effectively within a team, and the confidence to deliver training and presentations to large groups.
