Missing: Board members Tresea Brown and Nanalie Cover.[/caption] The Health Services Authority (HSA) is proud to welcome the members of the new Board of Directors appointed effective 2 August 2021.The board will continue to provide guidance on the long-term goals and policies for the HSA by making strategic plans and decisions that will help strengthen the organization, its medical services and patient experience.We are so thankful to have on our board such dedicated professionals and members of our community, said HSA Chief Executive Officer Lizzette Yearwood. Their management experience, business acumen and knowledge in a diverse range of fields, including healthcare, bring added depth to our board. As HSA continues to grow, their expertise will be of critical importance to the future of the organisation.Four new members Osbourne Bodden (Chair), Joy Vernon, Dr Luana Look Loy and Tayvis Walters have joined the board for this term. Reappointed board members are Jaron Leslie (Deputy Chair), Tresea Brown and Nanalie Cover.[caption id="attachment_12175" align="alignleft" width="207"] Osbourne Bodden has been appointed HSA Board Chairman.[/caption] Osbourne Bodden has been appointed Chairman of the Board. In his early career, he spent 7 years in auditing for two of the Big Four accounting firms - Ernst & Young and Price Waterhouse, before working 5 years as an Insurance Analyst for the governments Insurance Department. Subsequently, he was employed at Mutual Risk Management managing Health Care Captives, where after 7 years, he resigned as Vice President to operate and expand the family businesses. He has spent the last 21 years as a successful businessman and served two terms as an MP for Bodden Town, first as a backbench member from 2005 to 2009, and lastly serving as Minister of Health, Sports, Youth and Culture from 2013-2015 and Minister for Community Affairs, Youth and Sports from 2015 to 2017. Jaron Leslie serves as Deputy Board Chairman. He is a qualified attorney in the Cayman Islands and a member of the Harney Westwood & Riegels (Harneys) Cayman Islands Dispute Resolution practice group. Dr Luana Look Loy is currently in private general practice alongside her father, Dr Victor Look Loy. She is passionate about health promotion, disease prevention, public education; has been involved with the Cayman Islands Diabetes Association (founded by her father, in 1987) and is currently a Director of ALS Cayman. Joy Vernon worked at the HSA from 1992 2013 and was the first Caymanian female Paramedic. After working in various positions and pursuing further education in law, Ms Vernon was admitted to the Cayman Islands Bar in January 2021 and now enjoys her new career as an Attorney-at-Law. Tayvis Walters is a certified IT Specialist with more than 10 years of experience in the IT industry and is presently employed with a global leading offshore law firm on island. He presently serves as a Committee Chairman and Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Youth Ambassador within the Ministry of Youth, Sports, Culture and Heritage and is a member of the National Youth Commission's Advocacy and Youth Empowerment Committee, Save our Youth Foundation, and numerous community-driven initiatives and groups. Tresea Brown is a Senior Human Resource Consultant with CIBC Bank and Trust (Cayman) Limited. She is an accomplished Human Resources professional with over 20 years of generalist and specialist experience in corporate environments. Nanalie Cover is a Certified Public Accountant and has worked as an Auditor for Pricewaterhouse- Coopers (PWC) in the Cayman Islands. She is a specialist with over 20 years of experience in Compliance, Risk and Internal Audit. Ms Cover is also a member of the Board of the Cayman Islands Compliance Association, the Cayman Islands Chapter of WISTA (Womens International Shipping and Trading Association) and Rotary Sunrise Grand Cayman.We are committed to ensuring HSA offers the highest quality healthcare and truly helping make a difference in the lives of people in the Cayman Islands each day through accessible, sustainable and patient-focused services, said Chairman Osbourne Bodden.
