New Minister of Health, Youth, Sports and Culture Osbourne Bodden toured the Cayman Islands Hospital last week as he begins to familiarise himself with the departments and agencies he will oversee during his term in office.Meeting with staff of the Health Services Authority at the hospital, Mr. Bodden said he was encouraged by the progress being made and the dedication and professionalism shown.I am confident that you will continue the great work and I look forward to getting to know you more closely, as we provide quality services and programmes for the people of these islands, he told hospital staff.Following the tour, Minister Bodden commented on the apparent shortage of Caymanians administering healthcare to patients, adding that he planned to address the issue of local people within the healthcare industry in the future.In upcoming visits to other departments under his purview, he said he would also be looking closely for similar issues. He also plans to visits the Health Regulatory Services, Mosquito Research and Control Unit, Department of Environmental Health in Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac, the National Gallery, Department of Sports, Youth Services Unit, Cadet Corps, National Museum, Cayman National Cultural Foundation, Cayman Islands Museum and Faith Hospital in Cayman Brac.
