The Caring for Life Foundation (CFLF) generously donated seven GE Tuff State pulse oximeters to the Cayman Islands Health Services Authority (HSA) in January 2013.HSA Chief Executive Officer, Lizzette Yearwood, stated We are very thankful for this generous donation and I can assure these devises will be a significant benefit to the hospital. The pulse oximeters measures the amount of oxygen is in a patients blood, without having to draw any blood. This portable, pain free devise will be a huge asset, since staff can take these along on patient home visits.Representatives from the Caring for Life Foundation present included Wil Pineau, Christine Mathews, and Kim Remizowski. Nurse Manager of Primary Health Care Services, Karen Clayton-Babb, demonstrated the use of the equipment on Mr Pineau and Mr Remizowski. This is just one of many equipment donations that Caring for Life has made to the HSA in the past year. The Caring for Life Foundation is a community-driven charity that is raising funds for needed equipment and supplies to ensure that our healthcare system can respond effectively when medical care is needed.
