The Health Services Authority (HSA) advises the public that the Smith Road Centre Pharmacy location will be temporarily closed effective Saturday, 6 February 2021.
The closure of the Smith Road location is a necessary action to facilitate further development of the building space, which will be expanded to make room for the relocation of the Main Pharmacy from the Cayman Islands Hospital to the Smith Road Centre.
“The expansion of our pharmacy services and relocation of our Main Pharmacy to the Smith Road Centre is a part of our Master Facility and Service Development Plan to increase services and enhance access to care,” said Chief Pharmacist Colin Medford. “The changes we are making will help us to better meet the needs of the people who visit our pharmacies by delivering convenience and efficiency, in addition to expediting the process of medication dispensing.”
To manage this redirection of patients to the Cayman Islands Hospital, the Main Pharmacy will extend its opening hours as of Monday, 8 February. The new hours will be Mondays – Fridays 8:00 am – 9:00 pm and Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays 8:00 am – 6:00 pm.
