Public Health launches new isolation letter process

by Monique Spence / Wednesday, 01 December 2021 / Published in Public Health

The Public Health Department has launched a new process to request isolation letters for persons mandated to isolate due to being a COVID case or a primary contact.

Individuals requiring proof of isolation can still use their positive PCR result from the laboratory or, if required, request a letter through the new process.

Isolation letters can be requested here or at www.hsa.ky/public-health/.

A negative PCR exit result may serve as an isolation release notice or, if required, one can be requested through the form.

Each request will be verified by a Public Health official to confirm persons are under mandatory isolation.

“Due to the number of cases in isolation, the requests for these letters through email have been substantial,” stated Dr Samuel Williams-Rodriguez, Medical Officer of Health. “Within the first few days of releasing the form, we have completed over 200 requests and have caught up on all backlog. This approval process is more automated providing a faster turnaround time going forward.”

Individuals reporting a positive lateral flow test (LFT) will automatically receive this Isolation Advisory [letter] via email, therefore would not need to request separately through the form.

Individuals granted early release from isolation by meeting Public Health’s new criteria may request an isolation release letter through the form, if needed.

Isolation advisory letters will be emailed to persons from publichealth-no-reply@hsa.ky.  Please enter your correct email address to ensure you successfully receive your notice.

If applying for the Government Hardship Stipend, positive PCR results or Public Health isolation letters / advisory is required.

If you are positive for COVID-19 and you develop symptoms or if existing symptoms worsen by calling the flu hotline on 1-800-534-8600 or 947-3077 or email flu@hsa.ky
