COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic Updates | 12-24 April

by Brooke Moore / Thursday, 08 April 2021 / Published in News
April 12-24 COVID vaccine schedule

The Public Health Department has published the latest schedule & requirements for the COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic for 12th April – 24th April 2021. Effective Monday 12th April, the clinic will be offering dose 1 & dose 2 vaccines to all persons 16 years and over, regardless of surname.  Photo ID showing date of birth is still required, however, persons no longer need to provide identification to demonstrate they are an ordinarily and legally resident.

Operational hours at the ORIA COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic have also been extended to better accommodate the public’s varying work schedules. Please check the schedule at hsa.ky for new clinic hours.

“The expansion of hours at the clinic will allow better access to the vaccine,” said Public Health Nurse Manager, Joanna Rose-Wright.

“If you are unsure about getting the vaccine or have questions, I encourage you to speak to Public Health Nurse, your doctor or contact the HSA Flu Hotline. We are here to help you make informed decisions about the vaccine and dispel misconceptions.”

“If someone were to contract COVID-19, the symptoms can be severe, long-term or even cause death,” said Nurse Rose-Wright. “Although Cayman has been fortunate to not have any current community spread and very little deaths, we are still amidst of a global pandemic therefore getting as many persons vaccinated will ultimately help protect everyone in the community, especially once our borders reopen to visitors.”

Persons 16-24 are especially encouraged to come out and get the vaccine at the vac-CI-NATION Event on Forum Lane, Camana Bay on Friday April 9th 3-7pm. For more information visit https://www.hsa.ky/news_events/covid-19-vaccination-drive-scheduled-for-persons-16-24/
