The Cayman Islands Health Services Authority (HSA) Accident & Emergency (A&E) service will be temporarily relocated from Friday, 12 May 5:30 PM until Tuesday morning, 16 May 2023 due to renovations to expand and enhance the service.
Patients requiring emergency care may access A&E using the main hospital atrium entrance. Signage and security will be in place for directions.
Persons with non-emergency needs such as flu, earache, mild sprains, cuts and colds can visit HSA’s Urgent Care Clinic (UCC) located in the George Town Hospital’s atrium (main entrance). The walk-in clinic will be open throughout this weekend for better convenience to patients during the A&E relocation; weekend opening hours are:
Saturday, 13 May: 8:30 am – 6:00 pm
Sunday, 14 May: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm
Monday, 15 May: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm
A&E will remain open 24 hours a day without interruption to ensure the continuity of patient care.
Reasons to visit Accident & Emergency:
• Loss of consciousness
• Persistent, severe chest pain
• Breathing difficulties
• Severe bleeding
• Severe allergic reactions
• Severe burns or scalds
• Acute confused state and fits that are not stopping
