The Cayman Islands Ethics Committee
The Cayman Islands Ethics Committee was established over four years ago with the main objective of advising on ethical issues within the HSA. One of the main purposes of the committee is to act as a mediator in the event of ethical dilemmas relating to patient care. The committee is also called upon to assist in policy review at the national level i.e. Advance Directives. Over the years, our responsibilities have extended to include the granting of approval to conduct human research in the Cayman Islands. The committee meets on the second Wednesday of every month at 5:30 PM.
