EMERGENCY ROOM PHYSICIAN

Responsibilities: The post-holder will provide accident and emergency medical coverage and urgent care in conjunction with other physicians on a shift basis. The post-holder will perform minor surgical & orthopaedic, procedures, manage and stabilize paediatric, medical, surgical, gynaecological and obstetric emergencies and trauma patients.

Qualification and Experiences: The post-holder must a have medical degree and specialist qualification in emergency medicine or ER Board Certification or a minimum of three years post-registration experience in emergency medicine. Preference will be given to fully trained specialists.

The post-holder will be required to develop knowledge of relevant legislation, court procedures and social services and to display high level of fairness, compassion and commitment in delivering quality health care in a multi-cultural environment.  The successful candidate must be able to register as an Emergency Room Physician in the UK, USA, Jamaica, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa or Canada.

ACLS, PALS certification is required. ATLS certification is desirable.

Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications

This position carries an initial two-year contract with the option to seek renewal.  Benefits include paid vacation, medical, dental, air passage, baggage allowances, and a Pension Scheme.  There is no direct taxation of salary earned in the Cayman Islands. 

The Cayman Islands are a British Overseas Territory, consisting of three islands with a combined population of approximately 60,000, located about 450 miles south of Florida, USA.
