Clinical care in the department strives not only to treat illness but to minimise the negative effects of illness on patients' daily lives by ensuring appropriate follow-up care and rehabilitation for ease of integration back into their family and community life.

Location

Our Specialist Clinics are strategically located on the ground floor in the main foyer of the Hospital, directly beside the Pharmacy.

A total of 9 consulting rooms are available for private consultations with your Doctor.

Clinic Hours

Monday to Friday: 8:30am - 5.30pm

Saturday: 8:30am - 12:30pm (Paediatric & Visiting Specialists Only)

The clinics are closed on Sundays and Public Holidays. However, if you require medical attention urgently, our Accident & Emergency Department is open 24 hours daily. Our A & E staff will be happy to attend to your needs.

How To Make, Change Or Cancel An Appointment

All patients are required to make an appointment before coming to our Specialist Clinic. This is necessary to reduce the waiting time and prevent congestion within the clinic. When making the appointment you must have a referral from a doctor.

Please come at least 15 minutes before your appointment time to register. After registration please take a seat and wait for your name to be called. Your doctor will then see you.

To make, change or cancel an appointment please call 244-2530 or 244-2502, Monday to Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Please inform us at least two (2) hours prior to your appointment if you are unable to attend. This would allow us time to schedule someone else in need of our service.

What To Bring & Registration At The Specialist Clinic

Please bring:

  • your Hospital Blue card
  • health Insurance card
  • appointment card
  • picture I.D.
  • proof of residency

This will ensure that the registration process will flow smoothly and efficiently. When you arrive at the clinic, please proceed to the registration desk. The Nurse will indicate to you when it is your turn to see the Doctor. Kindly proceed to the consultation room as indicated.

Charges

For Laboratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Medical supplies, Physiotherapy and other procedures conducted at our Specialist Clinics, fees will be calculated according to the services provided.

If you do not have insurance coverage, we will seek payment in full. Payment can be made by:-

  • cash
  • cheque
  • or credit card

All information will be checked to verify identity of the insured; the validity of the card and the level of coverage provided, before service is rendered.

Waiting Time

Your doctor will make every effort to begin your consultation as promptly as possible. Occasionally, you may have to wait for more than 30 minutes before being seen by the doctor. Such instances do arise as doctors are called away to perform immediate life saving procedures. When this happens alternative arrangements are made if your doctor is held up in an emergency for more than 30 minutes.

After Consultation

After the consultation, please proceed to the clinic counter to:

Make payment for the medical consultation, laboratory tests or other investigative procedures. Our clinic staff will direct you to the relevant service centres.

If your Doctor indicates the need for follow-up consultations please ensure that you make a new appointment at the Registration Desk. Details of your next appointment will be noted on the Appointment Card. ? If medications were prescribed you may proceed directly to the Pharmacy to collect your medicines. Payment for medication should be made at the Pharmacy.

Complaints / Concerns or Comments

We are always looking for ways to improve our service, and we welcome your suggestions. Please take a moment to complete our Patient Satisfaction Questionnaire which is available at the time of registration. Ask the Registration Clerk for a copy, if one was not presented to you.

We would also like to know who and what worked well for you, so that your praise can be passed on to the person and we can encourage that kind of service. Feel free to pass your ideas on to us through the Patient Services Representative at 244-2820 or to the Specialist Services Manager at 244-2502.

If you have a complaint please ask to speak to our Patient Services Representative who is available from Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm to assist you. If you have a complaint outside of these hours, please ask to speak to a supervisor or call during regular working hours.
